Invisalign Dentist

An Invisalign dentist attends to patients who prefer to straighten their teeth using clear Invisalign aligners. On wearing, the aligners gradually shift the teeth into the appropriate alignment.

Benefits of Invisalign

The Invisalign treatment process boasts several benefits. One of the most obvious advantages of Invisalign is that it is almost completely invisible, so no one has to know you are undergoing treatment. Most people won’t even notice you are wearing Invisalign aligners.

Another advantage of Invisalign is that it can be used to treat many orthodontic conditions, including overbites, underbites, crossbites, gaps, crowding, and more. Invisalign aligners are also removable, which means that you can take them off to eat and brush and floss your teeth as usual.

The Invisalign Treatment Process

Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that hardly anyone will notice when worn by the patient. It is fabricated at a dental lab to the unique dental measurements of each patient.

The patient should wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As each aligner is replaced with the next in the series, the teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position the Invisalign provider has prescribed. The patient should visit the dentist about once every six weeks to ensure that the treatment is progressing as planned.

Caring for Your Aligners

To keep your aligners clean and free of bacteria, you should brush them gently with soap and water before putting them back in your mouth. Invisalign cleaning crystals or denture cleaner can also be used instead of water. Avoid cleaning your aligners with whitening toothpaste, which may damage the aligners. Be sure to remove and rinse your aligners before eating.

Although Invisalign treatment typically only takes a few months, the patient should wear the aligners for 22 hours a day. It is an essential part of the treatment plan and will enable you to achieve the best results.
